Scotts Valley High senior quarterback Tyler Stow was named Cal-Hi Sports’ Most Inspirational Player on the 2016 all-state football team.

Stow set league passing records this season, but did it with a heavy heart following the sudden death of his stepfather, Samuel Kain, last spring.

Stow set a school record with 5 touchdown passes against San Lorenzo Valley on Oct. 22 and matched that mark against Santa Cruz on Nov. four when he passed for 399 yards.

Winning pitcher Joey Skracic allowed 5 runs, 4 earned, in 5 1/3 innings.
